This page is full of different resources and ways you can help those still in Gaza, I have split it into different sections so it is easier to navigate. Although a lot of this information has already been included on my post and stories on Instagram (@thedumbblondeclub) - I have expanded into more detail here as I have more space.

1. Listen & Learn

There has been an ongoing occupation since the Nakba in 1948 where Palestinian Arabs were displaced from there homes or killed, for Zionists to create a Jewish state. Over the last few decades there have been several instances where Palestinians have been displaced and killed but it got worse in 2023 and since then an ethnic cleansing has begun.

Whether you read a history book, a memoir, listen to podcasts or watch documentaries, read articles or listen to the experiences of those who have lived or live in Gaza - it is so important to listen and learn about the past and present. As I said before there can be a biased narrative with misinformation and where they won’t call it what it is - a genocide - but we must use the correct language and understand why and how it has got to this point. Most of these resources are free, however some you must purchase.

2. Email Your Officials

Emailing your local MP to let them know how you are feeling towards what is happening is very important and puts pressure on them to make a change. If you are struggling on how to word your email the Humanti Project provide email templates on their website: https://www.humantiproject.org/email-templates/ & you can find your local MP using the link here.

Although that last link is for the UK, they also have links for USA and Canada sites and hopefully other countries have similar sites too. In the UK it has been proven that our government are funding military hardware including F-35 fighter jet components and facilitates British surveillance and logistics operations for Isreal from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. Jeremy Corbyn is currently putting forward an independent inquiry into the UK’s complicity in the genocide and the bill passed it first reading.

3. Donate

I have created a whole page dedicated to charities -small and big - that are still on ground in Gaza and trying to provide aid. As there were so many, I didn't want to reduce them or have all the information bombarding you on one page. To find out more information on those, you can head to that page by clicking here.

4. Sign Petitions

There are many petitions that can be found through various charities on their websites (Save the Children UK, Change.org, Oxfam, Islamic Relief UK & many more to be found via google) along with the UK parliament site. The Humanti Projects have also compiled a list of some on their site for easy access: https://www.humantiproject.org/petitions/

5. Peaceful Protests

There are many peaceful protests that are organised all over the world, and if you are able to attend this is an option to help. These can be found online - again the Humanti Project posts a lot along with some MP’s and content creators. Always make sure it is safe for you to attend and do your research. Protests are about showing up and using your voices, to show the governments what we want, not to cause trouble. Take care if you attend and know your rights.

6. Social Media:

In the age of social media where we are all only and watching this genocide on our phones, this is the easiest way to stay informed and raise awarness.

Engage & Repost Content

The easiest way to help spread awareness and information is to simply engage with content you see on social media platforms. One thing I will start this slide with is to say make sure you fact check everything as there is a lot of misinformation on social media, check who is posting and the sources.

There are many accounts on here and tiktok who provide updates (see slide 4 for examples) and also people who still live in Gaza who show you the realities and also have links for donating to help them whether it is to leave, or get simple aid.

By liking, commenting, sharing and reposting content it will help boost and push it out for more to see. Unfortunately some news outlets are very biased and don’t share the full story so I have personally found social media to be the most reliable source.

Follow Reliable Accounts

There are a lot of accounts you can follow which are informative on how you can help, show you what is happening/happened, give you daily updates and educate us on the history of Palestine. Here are some I’ve been following for a while now and a summary of their content, however there are so many more. Tiktok handles may vary but here are the instagram handles..

  • @humantiproject (daily updates and info)
  • @letstalkpalestine (daily updates and info)
  • @wearthepeace (a brand who post updates along with donating to humanitiarian causes)
  • @operationolivebranch (bipoc led movement)
  • @wizard_bizan1 (she’s currently living in Gaza, she documents daily on what is happening)
  • @plestia.alaqad (journalist and author)
  • @gazafreedomflotilla (updates on trying to get aid into Gaza)
  • @we_are_not_numbers (a charity sharing stories from Gaza’s youth)

7. Read Palestinian Books/Authors

If you are someone who reads and are looking to consume more books by Palestinian authors I’ve been working on compiling a list of books which I’ve researched that include: history books, memoirs/diaries, essay entries, poetry books, graphic novels and fiction.

It has been a big topic of conversation in the book community over the last year especially about not supporting authors who support the Israeli government/Zionism. Whilst I am not here to give you a list or tell you who not to read I think researching authors political/moral stances are very important if you are someone who believes we can’t separate the art from the artist. A lot of the time they sprinkle their views within their work too so it’s consumed by us, and promote it via social media. There have been lists with proof made by creators which you can access via searching on tiktok.

I will be creative a post for book recommendations as soon as possible so please keep an eye out for that.

8. Support Palestinian Brands

Below I have listed some brands I have found (most are Palestinian owned, some are donating to charities or go fund me’s) which have items to honour Palestine and the heritage. If you have a brand which is Palestinian or raising money please leave it below - I will tag the brands I have listed.

These brands are also donating money to charities..

You can also search sites like Etsy and tiktok to find more items/brands such as accessories, bookmarks, prints and clothing.

9. Boycotting Brands

Despite being a controversial topic of conversation due to many differing opinions I still wanted to include this. I recently found a site which provides a list of brands they believe are helping fund the occupational regime and they also provide proof and alternative brands/products:

https://www.whattoboycott.org/browse/1we

This is up to you to research into and make your own mind up on how to move forward, but it is there to check out. Please make sure to fact check and not go off hearsay.
